Local Flavor

Dining: You can experience local flavor at any of Missoula’s great restaurants. Some local favorites include The Pearl Café, Scotty’s TableBiga Pizza, Hob Nob Café, The Silk Road, Catalyst, The Depot, Mustard Seed and Caffe Dolce. If dining on a budget then Five On Black and Taco Del Sol are a nobrainer.

Coffee: Similar to Missoula’s Big Sister City’s of Portland and Seattle, Missoula folks love their coffee. There are plenty of local coffee shops to help you escape the gray winter days. A few of the best are Zootown Brew, Black Coffee Roasting Co., The Starving Artist, Butterfly HerbsBernice’s Bakery, and Black Cat Bake Shop.

Drink: If you want to catch a good happy hour look no further than Jakers and The Top Hat Lounge. If you are looking for a good spot to enjoy a glass of wine try The Red Bird, Plonk or even the Ten Spoon Vineyard & Winery in the Rattlesnake neighborhood. Missoula even has a distillery: Montgomery Distillery! If beer is more your thing then you are in luck since Missoula is home to 7 local breweries including Bayern the oldest operating in Montana, Great Burn Brewing one of the newest, and Big Sky Brewing which is by far the largest in the state. Having two locations the Kettle House is one of the most popular breweries thanks to its Coldsmoke and IPA beers consistently ranking as some of the best in the State. Missoula is also home to many festivals such as Winter Brewfest and Garden City Brewfest.
